The latest publication from Sublette County Artists' Guild in Pinedale, Wyoming to celebrate their 75th anniversary in 2004. Formed in 1928, the SCAG specializes in the sort of uniquely personal tales that bring Wyoming alive in the plains of Wyoming. Paying tribute to the founding members: Lora Neal Jewett, Josephine Jons Jones, Marie Meyer, Mary Solon Murdock, Louise McCabe Rathbun, and May McAlister Sommers this book brings together "Carvings on the Aspens" and "Collection of Poems", two of the earliest publications of SCAG. These first publications set a precedent for the SCAG books that have appeared since. They sought to capture history by recording memories that were swiftly fading at the time the volumes were originally published, including portraits of people and places. Today, copies of these first editions are difficult to find and have risen in value beyond the reach of most readers. Hardcover, 217 pages. Various artwork as illustrations throughout. Other books by SCAG: Tales of the Seeds-Ke-Dee (1963), out of print; Pouch of Possibles (1969), out of print; More Tales of the Seeds-Ke-Dee: Historical Lore of Wyoming's Green River Valley (1983), out of print; Seeds-Ke-Dee Reflections: Historical Lore of Wyoming's Green River Valley (1983), out of print; Seeds-Ke-Dee Revisted: Land of Blue Granite and Silver Sage (1998), out of print.
